These Terms & Conditions govern the use of the Doiyen Content Studio and the booking of studio time, events, or related services. By booking the studio or using our facilities, you agree to comply with the policies outlined below.
Studio Rules
To maintain a clean, professional, and safe environment, all clients, guests, crew members, and vendors are expected to follow the rules below throughout their booking.
No smoking, vaping, candles, incense, or open flames inside the studio.
No glitter, confetti, powders, smoke bombs, body oils, fake blood, paint, staining materials, or any other difficult-to-clean substances unless approved in writing before your booking.
Food and beverages must be kept away from studio equipment, furniture, and soft furnishings.
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Furniture, props, décor, and equipment may not be removed from the premises without prior permission.
Do not drag furniture, props, lighting stands, or any studio equipment. All items must be lifted when being moved to prevent damage to the floors, furniture, and equipment.
No outdoor shoes are permitted on the studio shooting floor. Shoes may only be worn by models or talent while actively being photographed or filmed. Shoe covers are provided and must be worn by all other guests entering the shooting area.
Studio equipment must only be operated by individuals who are familiar with its safe and proper use.
Any accidents, damage, or equipment malfunctions must be reported to Doiyen staff immediately.
Clients are responsible for ensuring that all guests, crew members, and vendors comply with these studio rules.
Overtime
Your booking includes only the time you have reserved. This includes setup, preparation, shooting, breakdown, and cleanup.
If your booking extends beyond the reserved session, additional studio time will be charged at the applicable hourly rate.
Overtime is subject to studio availability and cannot be guaranteed if another booking is scheduled immediately afterwards.
Any overtime of 15 minutes or more may be charged as an additional hour.
Cyclorama Wall
The cyclorama (infinity/curve) wall is one of the studio's primary shooting surfaces and must be treated with care.
Clients must:
Use only clean shoes on the cyclorama wall.
Avoid dragging equipment, furniture, ladders, or props across the surface.
Avoid placing sharp or heavy objects directly against the wall.
Notify Doiyen immediately if any damage occurs.
Excessive marks, scuffs, dents, scratches, or damage requiring repainting or repairs may result in additional charges.
Equipment
Clients hiring or using studio equipment are responsible for ensuring it is used safely and correctly.
Studio equipment may not be removed from the premises unless prior written approval has been given by Doiyen.
Clients will be responsible for the repair or replacement cost of any equipment that is lost, damaged, or misused during their booking.
Electricity & Power Interruptions
Doiyen is not responsible for interruptions caused by power outages, load shedding, internet failures, or other utility disruptions beyond our reasonable control.
Where reasonably possible, we will assist clients in rescheduling affected bookings, subject to studio availability.
Cleaning
The studio must be returned in the same clean and tidy condition in which it was found.
Clients are responsible for removing all personal belongings, decorations, catering items, balloons, flowers, and waste before the end of their booking.
If excessive cleaning is required due to stains, adhesives, spills, decorations, or other misuse of the space, an additional cleaning fee may be charged.
Lost Property
Doiyen accepts no responsibility for personal belongings that are lost, stolen, or left unattended during or after a booking.
Items left behind will be kept for up to 30 days, where possible. Unclaimed items may be donated or disposed of after this period.
Parking
Parking is at the owner's risk.
Doiyen accepts no responsibility for theft, loss, or damage to vehicles or their contents while parked on or near the premises.
Animals
Animals are only permitted with prior approval from Doiyen.
Owners are responsible for supervising their animals at all times and for any cleaning, damage, or disruption caused during the booking.
Noise
Clients must comply with all applicable municipal noise regulations and be respectful of neighbouring businesses and properties.
Music and amplified sound must be kept at reasonable levels unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Photography, Filming & Content Creation
The studio may be used for photography, videography, content creation, product shoots, podcasts, workshops, and other approved creative productions.
Clients are responsible for obtaining any permits, licences, permissions, model releases, or other approvals required for their production.
The Doiyen name, logo, branding, and studio interiors may not be used to imply endorsement, sponsorship, or partnership without prior written permission.
With the client's permission, Doiyen may share or repost content created within the studio for promotional purposes. Appropriate credit will be given where applicable.
Large commercial productions involving extensive equipment, special effects, large crews, or significant alterations to the studio setup must be disclosed when making the booking.
Liability & Indemnity
Clients use the studio and all facilities entirely at their own risk.
Doiyen shall not be held responsible for any personal injury, illness, death, loss, theft, or damage to personal property, equipment, vehicles, or belongings belonging to clients, guests, crew members, or vendors.
The client making the booking accepts full responsibility for the conduct of everyone attending their booking and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Doiyen, its employees, contractors, and representatives against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from the client's use of the studio, except where caused by Doiyen's gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
For larger productions or events, Doiyen may require proof of public liability insurance before confirming the booking.
Force Majeure
Doiyen shall not be liable for any delay, interruption, cancellation, or failure to perform its obligations due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, severe weather, natural disasters, government restrictions, strikes, civil unrest, pandemics, utility failures, internet outages, or other unforeseen events.
Where appropriate, affected bookings may be rescheduled subject to availability.
Right to Refuse Service
Doiyen reserves the right to refuse, cancel, or terminate any booking that:
Violates these Terms & Conditions.
Involves unlawful, dangerous, abusive, discriminatory, or inappropriate conduct.
Poses a safety risk to people, property, or equipment.
Causes disruption to neighbouring businesses or future bookings.
Doiyen also reserves the right to require any guest, attendee, or crew member to leave the premises if their behaviour is considered unsafe, threatening, intoxicated, abusive, or disruptive.
Booking & Payment
Bookings may be made through Doiyen's official booking platform or by direct confirmation with our team.
Full payment is required to secure all bookings unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Bookings are only confirmed once payment has been successfully received.
All payments are non-refundable once a booking has been confirmed. Bookings may be rescheduled once with at least 48 hours' written notice, subject to availability.
Refunds will only be issued where required by applicable South African law or at Doiyen's sole discretion.
Doiyen reserves the right to decline, cancel, or reschedule bookings due to maintenance, operational requirements, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
